ABOUT DOROTHY BORJA

Hi, I’m Dorothy. You can also call me Dot. I’m the healing practitioner here at Mayari Whispers, living in gratitude on Tongva land (Los Angeles County).

What led me to this work? The short answer is the year 2020. The events leading up to the pandemic became an opportunity to go inward and expand through the healing arts. I learned to access the Akashic Records and read oracle cards. I also connected to Reiki and crystals in a deeply personal way. It’s not so much that I found Reiki and crystals. It’s more like they found me.

Certified by Chona Bernardo in Usui Holy Fire II Reiki (Level I and II) in 2020, I received my Master level Certification in Holy Fire III through Jaclyn Kalkhurst in 2021. Both of my esteemed teachers learned directly from William Lee Rand, founder of the International Center for Reiki Training.

Regarding crystals, my love for minerals ignited under the guidance of Janelle Corpuz Hethcoat through her Crystalline Keys Courses. Joycie Weatherby’s Crystalline Core Healing Certification allowed me to experience crystals in new ways and gave me the opportunity to share crystals as a healing modality. I’ve continued my energy healing education through Kyle Gray’s Crystal Energy Guide certification.

Before my path led me to the healing arts, my professional work background was in Marketing and Advertising. The latter part of my journey has been as momma to four beautiful souls.

Through Reiki and crystal energy healing, I hope to share the overflowing love, peace, and joy that the universe offers. Consider this your invitation to come back to wholeness. Thank you for visiting and I look forward to being a part of your wellness journey.

who is mayari

In Filipino Mythology, Mayari is the Goddess of the moon, of revolution, combat, beauty, and strength. When her father, supreme being Bathala, went into deep sleep, there was contention over who would rule the earth. Mayari’s brother Apo Laki wanted absolute power, while Mayari wanted to share sovereignty. They clashed furiously until Apo Laki struck Mayari in the eye. Apo Laki apologized to his sister and they both agreed that they would rule the world equally. During the day, Apo Laki, god of the sun, lit the earth, while Mayari, goddess of the moon, illuminated the night.

Mayari represents a divine feminine that moves from a place of inner knowing. Both strong yet gentle. A balance of masculine and feminine. Embracing the whole. Mayari embodies the softness, intuitive, emotional, sensitive nature of the moon but the strength to uphold fairness and equality. Mayari, Goddess of the moon, revolution, combat, beauty and strength- she is a relevant symbol of today’s multi-faceted modern day femme.
